Wisdom Weavers
Coaching

Freelance Full-Stack Software Engineer

From the first conversation
to the client handoff.

I led this coaching-business website from requirements gathering and application design through implementation, deployment, and client training.

I built a responsive experience for mobile, tablet, and desktop with Next.js, React, and StyleX, integrated the Mailchimp API for newsletter subscriptions, and deployed it with AWS Amplify.

Code Garden

A visual approach to tracking technical debt and learning goals.

A task-management application that turns technical debt into weeds and completed learning goals into flowers. A visual way to see both the work ahead and the progress made.

  • Prisma
  • PostgreSQL
  • NextAuth
  • Jest
  • Vercel
The application in use · Tasks become a garden

The implementation

I modeled technical debt and learning goals as separate task types, sharing common behavior through a base Task class while keeping their persistence operations distinct.

Identity & persistence

The Prisma schema links users to separate debt and learning-task tables, storing completion dates and garden positions. Credential-based authentication uses NextAuth and bcrypt.

Testing & delivery

I tested the report’s completion-status filters with Jest and React Testing Library, including switching between complete and incomplete tasks. I deployed the application on Vercel.

Parley

Backend Engineer · Live communication

I contributed to the backend of a team-built live communication platform using Node.js and Express.

My backend work supported real-time communication with WebSockets and PeerJS, and media storage with AWS S3.

How I work

THE APPROACH
01

Start with the problem.

Understand what the person using the software needs before choosing an implementation.

02

Think through the system.

Consider the data model, backend, frontend, and how each part affects the others.

03

Keep the solution practical.

Test the behavior that matters and avoid adding complexity without a reason.

About me

A background in operations.
A mind for systems.

I’m a full-stack software engineer with a previous career in business operations and account management. Those roles taught me to understand customer needs, coordinate work, and improve the processes people rely on.

Moving into software engineering was a natural extension of the work I enjoyed most: understanding a problem, figuring out how the pieces should work together, and building a better solution.

Today, I work across the stack, with a particular interest in application architecture, data models, and how the frontend and backend come together as a complete system.
